Start a new document in Notion. Select the table database as a starting point. Call it ‘5 Minute Journal’
Rename the first column ‘One-liner’ (to give a one-line for each entry) and delete the Tags and Files columns.
Add a Date column and a ‘Created’ column with the ‘Created Time’ Property type.
Add ‘Habits Completed’ with a multi-select type.
Delete two of the example entries and start editing the first one with some data. In Habits completed add a bunch of things you want to track. (You can select/deselect as many or as little as you want)
Open up the entry we created and create a template ‘Daily journal’.
Add a heading ‘Photo’ with an image block for uploading.
Add a heading ‘Morning’
Write “I am grateful for…” with a numbered list 1-3 and turn the text into a callout.
Write “What will I do to make today great?” with a numbered list 1-3 and turn the text into a callout.
Write “Daily affirmations, I am…” with a numbered list 1-3 and turn the text into a callout.
Add a heading ‘Night’
Write “3 amazing things that happened today…” with a numbered list 1-3 and turn the text into a callout.
Write “How could I have made today even better?” with a numbered list 1-3 and turn the text into a callout.
Go to our first entry, select the template and enter some data.
Add a calendar view, add habits completed properties to the card.
Add a board view ‘By Habits’
Add a gallery view and add the habits complete property too, and sort by descending.
We can also add a day of the week property so that in reviews we can see habits completed by days of the week.
Add a property (single select): Monday - Sunday
Now add a board view for Day of the week and make sure it’s grouped by day of the week.
Add a few entry posts to test the flow
