Once your community is set up, you may want to think of ways to welcome your members after they join. This tutorial walks through two ways you can do this using Zapier.
Your two options explained in this tutorial are;
1. Send a direct message welcoming each new member who joins your community
This is ideal if you are using an invitation link to invite members to your community. This zap will fire whenever someone new joins (if you're only adding members, it will still fire).
To set this zap up, go to Zapier and create a new zap with Circle being both the trigger and the action. When a new member is added, we are going to send a direct message. Connect to your Circle account, and if you haven’t already, you will need to create an API token in Circle (Settings → API). Grab the API key and paste it into Zapier. In the action, you can customize the message to your members. Once you’ve tested the zap, turn it on.
2. Welcome new members once they post an introduction
With this zap, the trigger is going to be when a new topic is posted in Circle. Select the Circle Space where new members typically post in your community (e.g. Introduce Yourself). In this tutorial, our action is going to be 'send channel message in Slack'. If this is your action of choice, you'll need to select if you want to send a direct or channel message.
